Frequently Asked Questions
What is Nutrovell Vitamin D3 10,000 IU?
Each softgel provides 10,000 IU (250 mcg) of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) in a sunflower-oil base. D3 is the same form the skin makes from sunlight and is converted in the liver and kidneys to the active hormone calcitriol, which regulates calcium and immune signalling. This is a high-potency dose intended for those with elevated needs. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA and this product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Why choose a high-potency D3?
Vitamin D3 supports calcium absorption, bone and dental strength, muscle function and normal immune regulation. A 10,000 IU dose suits individuals with limited sun exposure or higher requirements, restoring or maintaining status more rapidly than standard strengths, which is precisely why it should be used with professional oversight.
How should I take it?
Take one softgel daily with a meal that contains some fat, as vitamin D is fat-soluble and its absorption depends on co-ingested lipids.
Is 10,000 IU a high dose, and how long should I take it?
Yes. 10,000 IU is well above the general daily requirement and above the tolerable upper intake level for unsupervised routine use, so it is intended for supervised correction of low status. Your provider can check your 25-hydroxyvitamin D level and advise on duration and whether to step down to a maintenance dose.
How long does one bottle last?
Each bottle contains 120 softgels, a 120-day supply at one per day.
Can I take it with my other supplements?
If you also take our Calcium, Magnesium & Zinc with D3 or a multivitamin, count the vitamin D from those toward your total. Vitamin D works synergistically with magnesium and vitamin K2 in directing calcium to bone.
Who should avoid it?
Consult your provider before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have hypercalcemia, sarcoidosis or kidney disease, conditions in which vitamin D must be managed carefully.
Is it suitable for vegetarians?
The softgel is made with gelatin, so it is not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.
